Golden Ticket Sports is a relationship-driven sport development company founded by Tanner Brightman. The organization delivers high-quality camps, conferences, and multi-sport events for athletes, coaches, officials, and organizations of all ages and skill levels. Known for being exceptionally organized, well-communicated, and thoughtfully planned, Golden Ticket Sports works with clubs, corporate partners, and sport communities from around the world to create positive, inclusive sport experiences.
The partnership began in 2018, when Tanner approached me to help reimagine a youth basketball camp in Regina called Hoop Factory, a long-running program I attended myself as a young player. As the camp evolved and was renamed Golden Ticket Camp, the initial identity leaned literal, combining basketball imagery with Regina’s downtown skyline inside a ticket shape. When the program later expanded into Golden Ticket Sports Inc., the brand needed to grow with it and support a much broader vision beyond a single camp.
The refreshed direction focused on creating an identity that felt timeless, flexible, and instantly recognizable. During exploration, a simple but defining idea emerged. By removing the baseline beneath the three-point arc of a simplified basketball court, the remaining lines naturally formed the shape of a ticket. This concept became the foundation of the identity, connecting sport and opportunity in a single, memorable mark. The final system reflects Golden Ticket Sports’ commitment to clarity, professionalism, and community, while positioning the brand for long-term growth across programs and audiences.

While early logo sketches were largely explored digitally, the broader creative process was informed by years of collaborative work with Tanner across multiple projects, from boys and girls basketball camps to concepts for Golden Ticket Sports’ five-year anniversary. These explorations helped establish a shared visual language rooted in sport, structure, and clarity, ultimately guiding the development of the final identity.

The final Golden Ticket Sports logo was designed as a flexible system built to scale across programs and platforms. With “Golden” embedded in the name, the brand colour direction became clear early on, while the chosen typeface provides consistency across the primary wordmark and supporting marks. The result is a confident, athletic identity that holds up across apparel, digital, and physical applications.

Since the launch of Golden Ticket Sports, Tanner and I have collaborated across a wide range of brand work, from camps and clubs to special events and anniversary moments. While basketball was the foundation of the organization, the identity has expanded to support volleyball, soccer, and hockey, each with its own needs while staying rooted in a shared visual system. The ticket shape became a unifying element throughout this work, adapting naturally across sports, including volleyball applications that reference court lines while retaining the perforated edge of a classic ticket. That same consistency carried into broader branding efforts, including work for the Regina Catholic Schools Sports Academy across multiple disciplines. While this case study focuses primarily on the basketball side of Golden Ticket Sports, the system was built to scale far beyond a single sport, reflecting the depth and longevity of the partnership.

The Golden Ticket Sports identity is built on a clean, flexible design system that prioritizes clarity, consistency, and approachability. Typography is led by Gilroy, chosen for its modern, geometric structure and friendly, sport-forward feel. It performs equally well in uppercase and lowercase, pairing naturally with the logo symbol while remaining highly legible across digital, print, and apparel applications.
The colour palette is intentionally simple and distinctive. Golden Ticket anchors the system as the primary gold, reinforced by Final Whistle, a neutral black that adds contrast and structure, and Game Day, a soft off-white that keeps the system light and balanced. While select programs and events, such as Lucky Buckets, May Madness, and recent Global Game Camp merchandise, introduce expanded colour palettes, these core colours form the foundation of the brand and consistently pair well with new tones as the system evolves. Together, the typography and colour palette create an identity that feels athletic, welcoming, and built to grow across sports, programs, and moments.

This project was an opportunity to collaborate closely with Tanner and help shape a clear, enduring identity for Golden Ticket Sports. It’s been an honour to support the brand’s growth over the years, and I’m always excited when a new idea or project lands on the horizon.
