Flint Studios is an interior design and project planning studio based in Regina, created by the owners of Encora Developments. As Encora grew, the team wanted to establish a distinct brand for their interior design work, one that could stand on its own while still reflecting their commitment to quality and detail. Flint was built to capture that spirit, focusing on spaces that balance form, function, and atmosphere.
The goal for the Flint Studios brand was to create an identity that feels refined and timeless, yet approachable. It needed to reflect the studio’s belief in thoughtful design, where materials, light, and texture come together with intention. Through exploration of tone, typography, and natural references, the brand began to take shape around ideas of restraint, balance, and quiet confidence.
The final identity combines elegant typography with a subdued palette inspired by natural materials and architectural detail. It feels grounded in craft and clarity, built to represent a studio where every space is designed with purpose and care.
I began by sketching a range of logo concepts that explored both the full name and standalone letterforms. From serif to script, each direction tested how Flint could balance elegance with strength. Early ideas included more expressive monograms and hand-drawn wordmarks, but through discussion it became clear that the brand didn’t need an additional symbol. Instead, the letter "F" itself would serve as the icon — simple, memorable, and adaptable across applications. The goal was to create a mark that felt refined and enduring, much like the interiors Flint designs.

A set of flexible logo lockups was created to give the brand versatility across print and digital applications. The words Form, Frame, and Style Space were developed to capture the essence of Flint Studios while subtly nodding to its initials. A uniquely oval-shaped container holds either the full wordmark or the standalone "F" symbol, offering structure and continuity throughout the system. An alternate version features Flint in the primary brand font with Studios smaller beneath, creating a balanced, timeless mark adaptable to any use.
