Elkhorn Auto began with a roadside moment.
On a drive from Regina to Winnipeg, I passed the Elkhorn Auto Museum and was struck by the signage. Bold, slightly mechanical, and full of personality. The kind of lettering that feels built, not styled.
That moment became the foundation for a typeface inspired by vintage automotive signage, repair shops, and old service stations.
With Elkhorn Auto, the goal was to create something structured but full of character. A typeface that feels sturdy and dependable, while still carrying the warmth of vintage design.
Built in Thin, Regular, and Bold weights, Elkhorn Auto moves from subtle to strong while maintaining a consistent, grounded feel.
More than anything, it is about capturing the feeling of something well-made, time-tested, and built to last.

Designing Elkhorn Auto gave me a deeper appreciation for how much character can live in simple, functional lettering. Building a typeface rooted in structure and utility pushed me to focus on balance, consistency, and restraint.
This font was created as a practical tool. Something designers can rely on when they want work to feel strong, grounded, and timeless. Whether used in branding, signage, or apparel, it is meant to bring a sense of durability and quiet confidence.
More than anything, Elkhorn Auto reflects an appreciation for design that is built to last. I hope it gives people a way to create work that feels dependable, considered, and enduring.
