Basketball has been part of my life since childhood, so I wanted to create a series that celebrated the game beyond the court. What began as quick sketches evolved into an ongoing poster collection exploring basketball through illustration, typography, and visual storytelling.

Every piece starts with the same challenge: create a fresh interpretation of a basketball. Whether through abstraction, visual puns, or unexpected object pairings, each illustration pushes a familiar shape in a new direction while celebrating the creativity, culture, and joy that surrounds the game.

8-bit Ball. Inspired by classic arcade games and early video game graphics, this piece reimagines the basketball through a nostalgic 8-bit lens. Sometimes the simplest ideas make for the most recognizable designs.

From Downtown. A study of perspective and repetition, this poster explores how a basketball can be viewed from every angle while remaining instantly recognizable. A tribute to the game's most iconic shape and the shots taken from well beyond the arc.

Splash-ketball. What if a made basket created more than just a swish? This illustration blends the motion of a splash with the familiar lines of a basketball, inspired by one of the game's most satisfying shots.al applications.

Hand in the Cookie Jar. Growing up, coaches always reminded us to finish every shot with our "hand in the cookie jar." This playful interpretation turns that shooting cue into a literal cookie jar woven from the net of a basketball hoop.

Michael Jordangelo.Inspired by Michelangelo's David, this piece imagines the Renaissance masterpiece with a basketball twist. A hand-drawn tribute that combines my love of fine art, illustration, and one of the greatest players to ever step on the court.

An Apball a Day. A simple visual pun that pairs two familiar shapes into one. Sometimes the best concepts come from finding unexpected connections hiding in plain sight.

Baskets of Beauty. The textured centre of a sunflower always reminded me of the surface of a basketball. This illustration merges the two, celebrating the shared patterns found in nature and the game.

The Spider. Named after one of my favourite ball-handling drills growing up, this concept transforms a spider's web into the familiar shape of a basketball. A playful nod to practice, repetition, and the spooky season.

Airball. The idea for this piece came while looking up at the clouds after a game in Phoenix. By blending a basketball seamlessly into the sky, it reimagines one of basketball's most infamous calls with a literal twist.

What started as a creative exercise has become an ongoing collection of basketball-inspired artwork. I'll keep adding new concepts whenever inspiration strikes, and if you're interested in a print, I'd be happy to make one for you.
